Our Staff
Will Urwin - Head PGA Professional
Turning pro in 2014, Will started his PGA training at British Masters venue, Close House in Northumberland. Following this, he moved to Celtic Manor Resort before completing his training at Hensol Golf Academy. Since qualifying as a PGA Professional Will has qualified as a PGA Golf Club Manager and is in the final stage of his Director of Golf qualification. As a coach, Will is a TrackMan Level 2 coach and has experience with working with golfers of every ability from touring professionals
Huw James - Retail Manager & PGA Professional
A qualified PGA Professional and former Wales International golfer, Huw joins Will Urwin and the rest of the PPG Team in providing exceptional retail service, equipment fittings and golf coaching. A coaching philosophy of keeping things simple and easy to understand and implement for his pupils, Huw spent 14 years as the Area Manager for FootJoy so is an industry expert in shoe fitting and matching golfers to the perfect footwear to maximise performance and comfort. Along with his Pro Shop team, Huw strives to deliver an outstanding retail experience for members and visitors alike.
Ryan Thomas - Trainee PGA Professional/Playing Professional
Ryan turned pro in 2016 following an amateur career which saw him crowned Welsh Boys Champion, Glamorgan Men's County Champion. He represented Wales twice in Home Internationals as well as European Championships. Since turning Pro, Ryan has wins on both the Jamega Tour and the TP Tour. Part of his role at Whitchurch GC is the development and implementation of the Junior Development Programme. He has developed an impressive client roster across all demographics and ability levels with superb feedback from his pupils.
